Counseling Services for Children and Caregivers

Counselling services are available for children aged 6 – 12, as well as for their parents or guardians. Counselling for children often involve the use of play-based activities; activities may include stories, games, and sensory play. We know that asking for help or seeking someone to talk to can be difficult, but finding that help shouldn’t be.

Foothills Community Counselling is our rural solution to ensuring children and families have access to the mental health supports they need to thrive.

Counselling services are provided by registered, masters level trained therapists. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and occur onsite at the Greater Foothills Family Resource Network or at the FCSS Resource Centre location. The number of sessions are determined by the unique circumstances of each child or parent. Children and families are referred through the Greater Foothills Family Resource Network will receive fully subsidized counselling services.
